How it works
Interval training for your cells.
Just as you might alternate walking and jogging to get fitter, the Cybcure system safely alternates the oxygen you breathe. This gentle, controlled variation trains your mitochondria, the “powerhouses” of your cells, to work more efficiently.
Scientists call the principle hormesis: the right dose of challenge, followed by recovery, prompts your body to adapt, the same way a workout builds muscle.
It’s not about breathing more oxygen.
It’s about using it better.
- 1
The challenge: low oxygen
The system gently lowers the oxygen you breathe, like being several thousand metres up. This is the signal that tells your cells to adapt.
- 2
The recovery: high oxygen
It then switches to oxygen-rich air, so your cells recover and reset before the next round.
- ↻
Repeat the cycle
Challenge and recovery repeat through the session. Unlike traditional altitude training, which recovers with normal air, IHHT recovers with oxygen-rich air, so each cycle is more efficient and more comfortable.
Backed by science
Applied biology, not a wellness trend.
Why does a little less oxygen make your cells stronger? Because every cell has a built-in oxygen sensor. Discovering how it works won the 2019 Nobel Prize, and IHHT puts that same mechanism to work.
Pioneered in Russia, re-engineered in China. Our lead engineer trained in Russia, where IHHT began, then brought the method home and developed China’s first IHHT system.

How Cybcure applies it
The science, precisely dosed for you.
The benefit depends on getting each challenge and recovery right for your body. Many IHHT machines need an operator to watch your readings and adjust the oxygen by hand. The Cybcure system does it for you, automatically.
- Reads heart rate and blood oxygen (SpO2) continuously
- Adjusts oxygen automatically, responding within half a second
- Delivers oxygen precisely across a 9–35% range
- Automatic switching, a built-in safety valve, and audible and visual alerts
- Built to medical-grade standards
What it may support
One system, whole-body benefits.
When your cells get better at turning oxygen into energy, the effects can show up right across your day.
Everyday energy & metabolic health
More efficient energy production at the cellular level, for steadier energy through a busy day.
Mental clarity & calm
Your brain is one of the body’s biggest energy users. Many people use a session to reset and refocus on demanding days.
Longevity
Supporting the cellular renewal processes that slow down as we age, as part of a healthy-ageing routine.
Everyday resilience
Helping your body cope with the pressures of modern life, alongside good sleep, nutrition and movement.
Athletic performance & VO2 max
Better use of oxygen, the key to endurance. Use it to prepare before training or to recover after.
Altitude preparation & travel recovery
Helping you prepare for thin air and bounce back from long flights and jet lag.
Individual results vary. IHHT is a wellbeing practice and complements, rather than replaces, exercise, good sleep and medical care.
Your session
Simply sit back and breathe.

- 01
Settle in
Sit or lie back comfortably. No changing, no exercise.
- 02
Sensor and mask on
A fingertip sensor and a lightweight mask. You breathe normally.
- 03
The system does the rest
Nothing to watch or adjust. You simply rest while the session runs.
- 04
Back to your day
Most people feel relaxed and refreshed, and carry straight on with their day.
Relax mode · continuous oxygen
Rest and restore
A steady, gentle flow of oxygen-rich air after a long day, travel or intense stress.
Training mode · interval oxygen
Work out your cells
The alternating low and high oxygen cycle, to build long-term resilience.
What is IHHT?
IHHT stands for intermittent hypoxic-hyperoxic training. During a session you breathe air that alternates between lower-oxygen phases, similar to being at altitude, and oxygen-rich phases for recovery.
The repeated, controlled change acts as a training signal for your cells, encouraging them to use oxygen more efficiently.
What does an IHHT session feel like?
Most people find it calm and restful. You sit or lie back and breathe normally through a lightweight mask, with no exercise involved.
During the low-oxygen phases some people notice slightly deeper breathing, a little like being in the mountains. The oxygen-rich phases that follow feel refreshing. Many people read, listen to music or simply rest.
How long does an IHHT session take?
A typical session takes 30 to 50 minutes of continuous, alternating cycles. Most people feel relaxed and refreshed afterwards and can get straight back to their day.
How often should I do IHHT?
IHHT works best as a course of sessions rather than a one-off. How often you train, and for how long, is agreed with your provider around you and your goals.
Is IHHT safe?
The Cybcure system reads your heart rate and blood oxygen (SpO2) throughout the session through a fingertip sensor, and adjusts the oxygen level automatically within half a second. Automatic switching, a built-in safety valve and audible and visual alerts add further layers of protection.
Providers check that IHHT is suitable for you before your first session. If you are pregnant, or have a heart, lung or other medical condition, speak to your doctor first.
Who is IHHT for?
IHHT suits people who want more everyday energy and resilience, people focused on healthy ageing, athletes and active people looking to support endurance and recovery, and travellers preparing for altitude. Because it needs no physical effort, it also suits people for whom exercise is difficult. Individual results vary.
How is IHHT different from altitude training?
Traditional altitude or hypoxic training alternates low oxygen with normal air. IHHT recovers with oxygen-rich air instead, which makes each cycle more efficient and more comfortable. You also get the effect without travelling to the mountains or exercising.
How is IHHT different from a hyperbaric oxygen chamber?
They do different jobs. A hyperbaric or mild-pressure oxygen chamber surrounds you with oxygen-enriched air under gentle pressure, as a space to rest and relax. IHHT works at normal pressure and alternates low and high oxygen to give your cells a training signal.
OxyLumina makes both: see the Cybcure Smart Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber.
Is the Cybcure IHHT system a medical device?
No. It is a CE-certified wellness device built to medical-grade standards, designed for wellbeing, recovery and performance support. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any medical condition, and it is not a substitute for medical care.
Does the system need a trained operator?
Many IHHT machines need someone to watch the readings and adjust the oxygen level by hand throughout a session. The Cybcure system adjusts itself automatically in real time, so your team can start a session without having to monitor it constantly. We provide installation and ongoing support.
Where can I try IHHT?
